Click your heels together three times and repeat "No one is coming to take your guns!" Shit, it didn't work!
I remember being on FB during the run up to the 2016 election, debating reasons not to support HRC with some "friends" (actually some who I really had considered friends since I knew them from my Army days) and one in particular who said this over and over to me. I do not know how they define "taking away" but clearly it is different. I didn't mind but I knew it was a lie. Imagine where we would be with Blackface Northam in VA and HRC in DC. Ultimately both our online and real-world friendship ended when she posted that anyone who supported Trump was a "racist." Yes, I know they say it all the time, but I really could not accept it from someone who was supposed to be a friend who I had known for years. Sad - but, well.....fuck it.
Anyway, back to VA. This is little more than kabuki theater. This foolishness of banning lawful carry due to unsubstantiated "threats" - perhaps we should say imagined or fabricated threats. It serves Blackface, in order to justify his attempt at taking guns away from the many to deal with the problems of a few, to cast all guns and gun owners as a threat. His attempt to ban firearms for Lobby Day is simply a way of saying "These guns and their owners are a threat to us. we must ban and banish them." In that way he attempts to create an evil persona for both firearms and their owners. Democrats excel at this. He sets the stage for interpreting any potential clash as the fault of gun owners. He also continues the rhetoric that justifies his confiscation. It also becomes another convenient way for leftists to wield power over others.
Addendum: Now, a day later,even though there was not violence, I am seeing people opining and whining about the fact that so many peaceful protestors went armed in places where it was legal to do so. In essence, it is a no-win for gun owners. If we fulfill their stereotypes, we lose. If we don't we lose. The only way we can win is to just sit down, shut up, and do as we are told. Not likely.
